Understanding Wireless Network Security
Security is the major concern in a wireless network because the signals that are used for the data transmission between connected computers travel in air. In such a situation, anyone can hack the signals and access the transmitted data. To overcome such unauthorized access in a wireless network, various wireless network security technologies have been developed. With these technologies, you can encrypt your data while transmitting it over a wireless network. Some of the technologies that are developed for the security of data in wireless networks are- Service Set Identifier (SSID), Media Access Control (MAC) Address Filtering, Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP), and Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA).
