Touchpad

A touchpad is also known as trackpad. It is an input device which comes on laptops to move a cursor with your finger. It can be used instead of an external mouse. It is operated by dragging finger across the flat surface of the touchpad. Like a computer mouse, a touchpad also has two buttons below the touch surface that allows you to left-click or right-click. The cursor can be moved by tracing the path on the touchpad and sometimes a click on the touchpad acts as the left-click of the mouse.

A touchpad can he bought separately and can he connected to either a laptop or computer via a USB connection port. Tabs are added by the manufacturer for the touchpad, so that the advanced configurations such as multitouch and motions can be added.
