The WEP Technology
The WEP technology ensures the security of data during transmission in a wireless network. This technology encodes data packets with the help of 40-bit, 104-bit, and 128-bit encryption. Moreover, the WEP technology provides authentication based on MAC addresses of the computers that are connected in a wireless network. In addition, the WEP technology works on the two lowest network layers of the Open System Interconnection (OSI) model, such as, the data link and physical layers.
