The Web Server

The Web Server

The Web server is the computer that holds the Web pages. It uses the client/server model and Hypertext Transfer Protocol (H1 IP) (HTTP is a protocol for data communication over the Internet) to access the files (Web pages). The Web server receive request from the Web browser; then process these received requests, and sends them back to the associated HTML document Web browser. For example, if you type the website address in the address bar of the Web browser, it means you are sending a request to the Web browser. The Web browser requests for the query to the Web server. Then, the Web server finds and fetches the relevant Web page for the specified query by the Web browser. The Web page fetched by the server is transmitted to the Web browser.
