Smart Jack
A smart jack, also known as network interface device, refers to a network interface that provides connectivity between service provider’s network and the internal network. This device facilities in code and protocol conversion and allows the device on the internal network to use signal from the service provider effectively. The smart jack also provides the functionality of the demorction point when it is used across the inside and outside wiring. In addition, a smart jack can use the electronic testing device for performing local loopback tests as well as troubleshooting.
