Resolving Names with the Hosts Table
The Hosts table is similar to the DNS, but the only difference is that the entries are static for every host and server. In Hosts table, there is a collection of hostnames that are located by the devices for name-resolution purposes. Also, both IPv4 and IPv6 environments are supported by the functions of Hosts table. You can view the information of Hosts table by opening the hosts file in a notepad. You can access the Hosts file from the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc location.
