Intermediate Distribution Frame
The intermediate distribution frame (IDF) refers to a wiring point that is found in a telecommunication room. This wiring point in connected to the MDF. It is usually a cable rack that contains all the cable coming from all over the building. IDF also holds network devices, such as routers and switches.
