Exploring Hardware Requirements to Setup a Wireless Network
Wireless networking uses wireless technologies, such as IR, wireless Ethernet, and Bluetooth for providing communication between various connected devices. IR ports are present in computers, printers, and Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) for data transfer. However, due to several limitations, IR ports were obsolete from these devices. The wireless networking is not built-in in desktop computers. However, you can use wireless adapter, such as a wireless Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) or wireless universal Serial Bus (USB) adapter, to add wireless networking to the computer.
You can add various devices, such as wireless AP, wireless extension point, wireless bridge, or Universal Serial Bus (USB) wireless adapter, in a computer to access a wireless network.
